Gus with our granddaughter
We adopted him in Oct ‘13. He was found as a stray in Illinois, shipped up to Maine, and we got him from the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society (http://www.gahumane.org).
He’s approximately 11-12 years old. He has the blind left eye, funky leg joints, an arched spine, a grade 3/4 heart murmur, and he’s terribly snarly if we try to get him to do something he doesn’t want to. Oh, and sometimes poop just literally falls out.
But as you can see from this photo, he is a sweetie pie when he wants to be. We’ve got him on joint supplements and a heart friendly, low-sodium diet. He spends most of his time sleeping in front of the wood stove but he’s played fetch a few time and even got up on the couch with the other dogs and I last night.
Here’s to a long and health-filled retirement with our family, Gus!
